We're still collecting donations
On the 15th May 2024 we'd raised £1,404 with 37 supporters in 33 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Funding boost to take us through to the Holyrood election in May 2026 by which time (we hope!) the path to Independence will be complete.

On the 15th May 2024 we'd raised £1,404 with 37 supporters in 33 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The D&G Indy Hub van has been supporting Yes/Indy groups across Dumfries & Galloway since 2019. We've supported stalls and exhibitions involving various groups; and collected Believe in Scotland independence promotional material from Business for Scotland in Glasgow, and delivered to local Yes groups.
Funding from local supporters, previous crowdfunders, itstime.scot, and the Scottish Independence Foundation has kept us on the road, and allowed us to buy and distribute banners and info packs, using Believe in Scotland and Indy Poster Boy graphics, around our region.
As well as providing banners to other sites/households across D&G, I rotate the banner on our own fence - beside a busy road and pedestrian pavement - which I'm sure has helped to boost the number of Saltire numberplates we're seeing daily in our own area and across Dumfries.
During this time we've seen support for independence and Indy-supporting political groups/parties rise - possibly because Yes/Indy groups/supporters have not been afraid to get out and be seen - we need to help keep that momentum going now that the Westminster parties are seriously trying to interfere with the Holyrood government operation.

And this one of our Indy Hub van and stall at the most recent AUOB march/rally in Dock Park, Dumfries, June 2022:
In addition to being 'out on the road', and recognising that we can't rely on folk seeking out information from Yes groups, myself and others have been regular contributors to the local newspapers 'readers letters' pages, including Annandale Herald & Moffat News; Dumfries Courier; D&G Standard - and others - getting information to folk who might otherwise not come across Indy/Yes groups, or who choose not to engage in public.
The Indy Hub van graphics were updated in 2023 to reflect changes in statistics showing Scotland's wealth and potential - and we're also saying "We promote Scotland in general and Dumfries & Galloway In particular" - with graphics including local scenes supplied by supportive artist/cartoonist Mark Toner.
We'll be in Moffat on May 11th to support Yes Moffat during their Believe in Scotland day of action - if you're in Moffat on the day, please say hello! And also hope to appear at many of the annual gala's across D&G, where they have a parade of 'floats', as we got started back before the 2020 lockdown and hope our new livery gets folk thinking.
D&G Indy Hub is not affiliated with any political party, though individual supporters do, obviously, have their own preferences and we do want, and expect, to see continued rise in support for Indy parties in our region in parallel with a rise in support for Independence.
During the 2023 SNP conference in Dumfries, two of us lobbied all members going into the session and handed one of these wee A6 cards, urging our preferred approach to help establish a credible route independence, to each entrant.
Although we do receive monthly donations into the Indy Hub account from a number of local supporters, the annual running costs and necessary repairs have repeatedly tested the bank account to (and beyond) its limit - which is why we're again asking for support from all of Scotland and elsewhere, to help us in this challenging region.
Here's the Indy Hub van at a recent meeting of Dumfries & Galloway Pensioners for Independence, in Dumfries.
Please note that, now that the original project date has passed and 'always on' has been activated, the Crowdfunder no longer allows the offer of 'rewards' but, as I do like to see Saltire numberplate stickers as I travel around I'll happily forward a pair to any donor who asks by direct message.
