Who are we?
Due North are a Not for Profit Social Enterprise Company supporting people to get outdoors, improving physical and mental health by taking part in outdoor activities.
Our aim is to help tackle inequality in the outdoors by creating events and activities which are diverse and inclusive. We focus on ensuring that we leave a lasting effect in the community by training and mentoring people to enable them to gain skills and confidence so that they can continue accessing the outdoors for further adventures.
Not everyone has the chance to explore our beautiful countryside, to take part in the most wonderful activity of all, Trail Running! which we all get to enjoy at leisure.
In 2025 Due North CIC will be delivering Introduction to Trail Running programmes, Navigation courses and Guided Trail Running for people living in areas of deprivation across the UK. We need your support to help fund these activities. Throughout the year we will update you wonderfully kind humans, on our social media platforms with photos , videos and feedback from participants on these courses, to show you the joy that you have helped bring to peoples lives.
Donate anything from £2 upwards, whatever you are able to afford.
Each Day between 1st - 25th December we will draw a winner at random from everyone who has made a donation so your name must be visible on your donation.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will the cover the cost of Run leaders/ Mountain Leaders to deliver the courses, Transport costs for participants taking part to enable people to travel and take part in our programmes. We advertise our programmes on our website, social media and through local councils, social prescribers and community groups and other Third Sector organistaions. Due North CIC already have a growing number of people who have registered an interest in our activities and are awaiting our 2025 programmes.
Community impact
The community will benefit by having a more diverse group of people accessing the outdoors and physical exercise, with all of the well-documented physical and mental benefits that this brings.
The activities which will be offered will directly benefit excluded and marginalised communities, enabling individuals to overcome barriers to access the outdoors in a supportive environment. The activities are designed to be inclusive and supportive, with a focus on confidence building in a safe environment to make the first step to becoming physically active. Being physically active , connecting with others and connecting with nature has a positive impact on mental health, improving self-esteem and improving physical health which can have a transformative impact on people living in adverse conditions.
