The Cause
Shredhill bike park is a mountainbike skills park in the Forest of dean. Its aim is to create a 'Progression park'. Somewhere that aspiring riders can hone their skills in a safe and controlled environment. We are aiming to make our builds progressive with a clear pathway to learning core MTB skills, practice tricks, race 4X and generally have a great vibe while learning to progress and advance any MTB skills. This is something we feel will benefit the area greatly.
We will be a fully eco friendly park, running on solar, using composting toilets and encouraging environmental stewardship and recycling. We aim to set up community projects with local schools and youth groups to provide MTB coaching and access to loan bikes for those who don't have the means to afford a decent MTB to ride.
The project is in its infancy and currently being funded through a bike shop in Cheltenham, 'Williams Cycles' This shop is a family run business and has been in the cycling community for 120 years. Unfortunately it cannot sustain the bike park on its own for much longer. So we are looking for help!
