We are a group of local organisations who are working together to renovate the old and outdated play park in Dormansland. Our aim is to make it accessible and usable for the whole community including our young people.
Once the project is complete it will be the first in Tandridge to have this level of accessibility.
To enable this to happen we are inviting your organisation to contribute financially to this fantastic project.
There are currently no truly accessible parks in Tandridge. Often when a play park is labelled as inclusive it has only a seat swing and a roundabout, and we know we can do better than that. For our village park that is so close to St Piers School where there are many disabled children and knowing there are others with disabilities in the village, we feel it is essential we turn this park into one that is inclusive and that everyone can use.
We have met with various companies who have put some exciting designs together. They are not only attractive, but almost entirely inclusive of all abilities. Our vision is for the park to become a real centre for anyone in the village to use, without there being any barriers for those most vulnerable members of our community. Having consulted the school councils from both St Piers and Dormansland Primary, we have included their favoured design with this letter.
If you would like to support our project with a donation, this would be very much appreciated. The budget we are working towards is around £200,000, and with £120,000 already committed from public funds, we still have a substantial way to go.
If we raise more than our target we can include more equipment.
