We are raising funds to help us complete a Doggy Play Park and Sensory Garden for the exclusive use of our guests and their furry family.

by Nikki Channon in New Inn, Wales, United Kingdom

Earlier this year we promised our guests this amazing addition to our dog friendly paradise here in rural Carmarthenshire.  A lovely shady spot with 6ft deer fencing, this totally enclosed Doggy Park & Sensory Garden will be for the use of our guests’ dogs.  If you have an “anti-social” or nervous dog this will provide an opportunity for some stimulating off-lead canine enrichment in a safe environment away from other humans and dogs so YOU don’t have to stress either!

We are offering this to our guests on an “exclusive use” basis so your dogs needn’t mix with other guests dogs unless you invite them to do so.  The basic safe, enclosed area is due for completion any day now 2020 and we will gradually be adding various interesting natural items, fun low level obstacles, textured paths, safe plants etc around the edges leaving a large area for running around and ball throwing in the middle.

We will be providing some shelter for us humans with seating to sit and enjoy the incredible views.

Despite the catastrophic effect the global pandemic has had on our income we have ploughed on with this project - the ground has been dug, cleared and flattened, grass seed sown and the 6ft fences are up - there's just the gate to do to make it secure.

Sadly though, with our business is falling through the gaps somewhat in terms of government support, we are running very low on money.  As we were instructed to close we've had to think of new and innovative ways to raise funds to supplement our income and, in this instance, to complete this project in time for our re-opening - hopefully within the next few weeks.  This fundraiser is one of them.  We would be so grateful if you would consider sponsoring one or more of the following items to help us complete it:

A dog safe plant for the sensory garden and "Sniffari" - £5

Tractor tyre for the doggy playground - £10

Doggy Den - £15

We won’t be charging for use of of the dog park and sensory garden but your donations will help us complete and maintain it.

This garden will be dedicated to Woody & Cookie beagles, both of which we lost recently.  They were the inspiration for our move to the country 11 years ago to set up our dog friendly holiday business.  We hope it will be enjoyed by many of their furry friends.

Here’s hoping you will support us in our endeavours so that yours and other visiting dogs can enjoy this fun and safe, off-lead space when you visit us.

Thank you.
