Dilwyn Young Farmers - Charity Event

Aim: We are raising money for 3 charities close to our hearts, St Michael's Hospice, Dillwyn Young Farmers and Borderlands Rural Chaplaincy.

We are a Young Farmers club with around 60 members from age 10 up 28 who do lots of volunteering and fundraising for the community. This year we are hosting a charity auction with guest speakers to raise funds which we will split between 3 charities. 

1- St Michael's Hospice this is close to the heart of all out members for the incredible care they have shown so many of our family and friends. Most recently Tony Hall who we lost earlier this year. He was a life long supporter of the club. He was also a huge follower and friend of our guest speakers You Tuber Olly Blogs and Martin Williams, NFU County Chair. We are very grateful to both our speakers for giving up their time to help us raise funds and look forward to hearing them speak. 

2- Borderlands Rural Chaplaincy who provide mental health support to the farming and rural communities of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Eastern Powys. They hold a monthly "Butty Van"  pop up breakfast giving farmers, farm labourers and their families opportunity to down tools and meet over a bacon butty. The Butty Van has been running for 8 years and they now operate 3 monthly events which move around farms in the local area. All the money we raise for them during this event will help to continue these services for the future.

3- Dilwyn Young Farmers we ourselves are also a charity run by volunteers providing a organisation for young people to meet new friends, learn new skills and compete with other clubs across Herefordshire and the UK. All the money we raise for Dilwyn Young Farmers will go towards supporting our members to pay annual subscription fees. We aim to keep the costs down for young members and families with multiple children in the club.
