Digbeth Digs Deep - A new charitable initiative to help the NHS Frontline.
Oval Real Estate and the Digbeth Estate has launched a new charitable initiative in order to help support our incredible NHS staff and those in need with free meal deliveries and care packages including much needed personal care items during these unprecedented times.
Coming together as a community is what we do best here in Digbeth and we’d love to give something back to those who are giving up so much. By supporting them on shift with nourishing home cooked meals we hope to help their mental and physical wellbeing in what must be a very difficult time for them.
Digbeth Digs Deep is looking to prepare and deliver meal and care packages to NHS staff, with the aim of providing a little bit of care for those that are giving so much to so many. Our amazing team at the Custard Factory and Fazeley Studios, alongside other chef volunteers from local businesses, have all agreed to volunteer their time to cook, package and deliver as many hot meals as we can to the Queen Elizabeth and Heartlands hospitals. We’re aiming for 400 meals, 3 days a week initially but hope we can scale this up. The care packages will consist of face wipes, moisturiser, hand cream and Vaseline to be used post shift.

We’re raring to go and can’t wait to make this a reality, but we really need your help! We’d appreciate any donation towards this amazing cause which would allow us to give back to these everyday heroes. £10 will provide 10 meals so every little helps.

Digbeth Digs Deep is proud to partner with Feed The Frontline (www.feedthefrontline.uk) who are working in London and Leeds to provide key workers with healthy, good quality food to support them as they work longer hours under increased pressure in the battle against COVID-19. A new charity (to be known as The Healthworkers' Support Foundation) has been very urgently established in order to support the health and wellbeing of health workers and their families and dependants, especially at this time of the coronavirus pandemic. Until the new charity (which was registered with the Charity Commission on 14th April, with registered charity number 1189049) has been fully registered with HMRC, it has been agreed that initial contributions should be made in favour of an existing charitable foundation, The Stone King Foundation (registered charity number 1129050), to be held by that Foundation in trust for use by The Healthworkers' Support Foundation for its charitable work, and in particular initially for the Feed the Frontline initiative of that charity.
