Aim: Help our emerging female-led theatre company bring original Scottish folklore-inspired play 'Devil's Point' to Edinburgh Fringe 2025
WHO ARE WE?
We are Cutty Sark Theatre, an emerging new writing company based in Glasgow, co-founded by Eve Miller and Laura J. Milton. We are passionate about representing queer women, and telling stories rooted in the Scottish landscape which explore the more-than-human.
Following our company's acclaimed Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with I See My Sister in 2024, we are thrilled to be returning to TheSpaceUK with a brand new piece of theatre based on Scottish folklore and the female experience. We truly believe that the world needs more Scottish stories, and more spooky stories about women. With your generosity, we can prove it.
OUR SHOW
Ailsa and Sean are a young couple, at the height of bliss – for now. While on a romantic hiking trip up the mountain known as Devil's Point, shadows darken, tensions rise and someone – or something – makes its presence known. Paranoia and skepticism work together to ask a disturbing question: who is to blame for the whispers on the mountain? Devil’s Point is an experimental folk horror play weaving together folklore from the Cairngorms region of Scotland and the pressures of modern-day relationships.
WHERE CAN I SEE IT?
Devil's Point will be performed at theSpace on the Mile at two different times across our two-week run.
Week 1, Aug 1-9: 16:40-17:25
Week 2, Aug 11-16: 17:40-18:25
Tickets: https://www.thespaceuk.com/shows/2025/devils-point
WHAT WILL WE USE THE MONEY FOR?
As an emerging company, we raise funds on a project-to-project basis, and are entirely self-funding this production. Our current funds are not yet enough to fully cover our venue costs, let alone any staging or advertising costs, both of which are vital to putting on an impressive and well-staged show, and finding an audience to watch it.
Your support and generosity would contribute to venue hire, production costs, and advertising costs - all foundational elements of this production, and key to its success. Financial backing would massively relieve the pressure on our very new company’s finances, providing us with a financial buffer for any unforeseen costs, and allowing us to focus our time and creative energy on the show.

Laura is a Glasgow based actor and writer. Hailing from the East Coast, she is interested in folk horror, female experience, and the more-than-human. She is excited to make her writing debut with Devil’s Point.
Eve Miller

Eve is a Glaswegian writer and director passionate about making female-led queer theatre that explores ritual, folklore, and gender. She co-founded Cutty Sark Theatre in 2024, and wrote, directed, and co-produced their first production, I See My Sister, a tale of sisterhood, belonging and heritage rooted in Scottish folklore and oral storytelling practices. She is currently developing Cutty Sark Theatre's Turn the Cloth, which was showcased as part of Gateway New Writing Festival in November 2024, a play which uses kelpie folklore to dissect girlhood and social norms surrounding gender and sexuality. She also has a Masters degree in Gender History, which informs her writing and directing practice and is foundational to her understanding and presentation of issues of gender, sexuality, and political and cultural history. She is delighted to be returning to the Fringe as the director of such a well-written, incisive and atmospheric play.
Logan Rodgers

Logan is a Glasgow-based actor from Belfast. He has experience as an actor, technician, and director. Recent acting work includes ‘A Slight Ache’, ‘The Zoo Story’, ‘Julius Caesar’, and ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. Whilst having an overarching interest in Shakespearean theatre, Logan is very excited to explore masculinity, heritage, and fragility in this piece of new writing.

PREVIOUS REVIEWS AND TESTIMONIALS
★★★★ – ‘This play… oozes a sense of the mystical. The script is strong, with themes of our relationship with the land beneath our feet, and the bonds of sisterhood.’ One4Review
★★★★ – 'Infused with mysticism and mystery, this haunting performance is an ode to the natural and unnatural elements of the Scottish countryside... Directed by Eve Miller, I See My Sister is an emotive and haunting piece that no one in the audience will soon forget.' Trinity News
★★★★ – 'brilliantly written… with amazing chemistry breathing life into their respective characters.' EdFringeReview
‘I See My Sister is a powerful, moving, and hauntingly beautiful piece of theatre that is not to be missed. The show is thoughtful and atmospheric, drawing the audience into the sisters' world where the line between reality and folklore blurs with each passing moment. It impressively captures the complex emotions of love, fear, and desperation through its compelling storyline and suberb acting. Undeniably my favourite Fringe show this year!’ - Audience Review, EdFringe website.
