We are DemocraFest Community Interest Company, an all-female, grassroots non-profit dedicated to revitalizing democracy in the UK. Our mission is to break the Westminster bubble and make political engagement accessible, inclusive, and exciting for everyone—especially younger generations and those currently left out of democratic decision-making.
We want democracy to be fun and interactive, not a stuffy concept you learn about at school. This is why we are combining performances from mainstream artists, like The Hoosiers and The Mercians, with debates featuring politicians across the political spectrum.
We also understand that younger generations no longer subscribe to a two-party system. That is why we have six parties represented so that our audience can explore different ideas and experiment.
Our flagship event, DemocraFest 2025, is a one-day festival taking place on 30 August 2025 in Hertfordshire, just outside London. This inaugural festival will blend live music, thought-provoking debates, and local food and drink to create a vibrant space where attendees can explore the importance of voting and civic participation.
Our Vision:
- Increase voter turnout across the UK.
- Build a space for open debate and music.
- Make democratic participation accessible and engaging for all.
