Dementia Support was founded by a group of people who had experienced dementia in their own families and felt passionately that those affected deserved better. We provide a full range of services for people living with dementia from our one of a kind dementia hub. In response to the cost of living crisis we have opened our community hub as a warm space and we are offering a soup and a roll for £1 to help people afford a hot meal. We are also providing our wellbeing activities for people living with dementia free of charge in January and February 2023.

Dementia Support is transforming the way that people with dementia are cared for. The first of its kind in the UK, we bring a full range of dementia services into one specialist hub - Sage House in West Sussex. Across West Sussex there are 17,000 people living with dementia and this is expected to increase by 16% by 2025, and 36% by 2030, as the population ages - leaving more people in need of support.
Our response to the Cost of Living Crisis
Practical help: Daisy’s Cafe
Our community café will be a ‘warm space’ welcome to all and for anyone who is unable to afford to adequately heat their home this winter. We will be offering free hot drinks and nutritious homemade soups for anyone facing economic hardship and struggling to afford food.
Wellbeing Activities for people living with dementia
We provide lively, accessible sessions at the Sage House hub that are creative, musical and fun. We have a varied programme: Gentle exercise, painting classes, music and singing groups, mindfulness practice, volunteer-led ‘chatter tables’ and reminiscence therapies including Cognitive Stimulation Therapy. Throughout January and February we are providing these free of charge to help with the cost of living and help people to stay active.
Information and advice: Wayfinding
Our free of charge advice service will be available to anyone seeking financial assistance to mitigate the financial impact of the rising cost of living.
Our experienced team of Wayfinders already guide Dementia Support beneficiaries with complex and emotionally sensitive difficulties. They are expert problem-solvers and provide their practical help with friendliness and compassion.
