Aims/ Overview of the Charity: Our goal is to provide basic needs to homeless people living on the streets. Since we started our journey in 2019, we have been dedicated to helping homeless people to improve their actual situation of homelessness.
Our initial goal is to bring the homeless people found in Tower Hamlet Borough to our shelter centre. Our long-term goal is to bring three homeless people each month i. e., 36 homeless people to our charity in the next year. We hope to continue this trend for five years. After five years, we hope to move to other major cities, such as England and Wales. After bringing homeless people to our shelter centre, we ensure that all facilities are at no cost. Basically, we work to take them to the point of independence. So that, eventually, they can become self-dependent.
Description of the Project, We Would Like to Fund: We started our project: “Helping Hands to the Homeless” in April 2023 with 5 homeless people. Since we started, we have been providing them with uncontaminated food, safe water, clothing, shelter, and support to get good healthcare services. We also support them in receiving vocational training and education so that homeless people get encouragement, empowerment, and self-confidence to work and be self-sufficient. We also create awareness in the local community to a large extent about the actual situation of homelessness. Our project will end in March 2024.
Background Requested /How Would the Fund be Spent: At present, due to inflation and new beneficiary demand, our initial budget is not enough and hence we are in urgent need of funds. For example, food, utility bills, toiletries, transportation costs, etc. increased significantly. Moreover, we need some fixed assets to buy for the shelter house.
