The window of opportunity to save someone's life from the time of a cardiac arrest is 10 minutes.
We should all, therefore, have access to a defibrillator that is a maximum of only a few minutes' walk.
Despite the fact that there is a large population and housing estate on the east side of Swanwick there is no defibrillator in the area.
The Gate Inn, Swanwick is raising money not only to purchase the defibrillator, but also to maintain it; to be located outside the pub.
To support the Gate Inn, I am cycling 1000KM in October to try and raise £1000, which will be go towards the cost of the purchase, installation and maintenance of the defibrillator.
