After a sell-out run at the Old Red Lion Theatre in January, Three Sisters are bringing DEADHEADS, to Assembly at Edinburgh Fringe 2024.

Three Sisters Production’s play, DEADHEADS, written by Maddie Lynes, and starring Maria Pointer and Grainne Dromagoole. Following a sell-out run at Old Red Lion Theatre in January, the play is being transferred to Assembly George Square from the 17th to the 24th August at the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.

The play is about two sisters who break a long silence, as they pack up their childhood home. It is a warm-hearted comedy which looks at the complexity and joy of loving someone, whilst allowing them to grow and change.

We feel very passionately about this piece of new writing and its celebration of sisterhood and we would love your help in getting it to the Fringe. As I'm sure you're aware, it costs a lot to put on a show at Fringe, on top of the high prices of accommodation and travel. We are looking to raise £1,500 to cover some of the costs of venue hire, marketing, accommodation in Edinburgh and travel, and we really can't do it without your generous donations.

Three Sisters is a theatre company founded by three real sisters. Their previous productions include Walk Swiftly and with Purpose and Baby, What Blessings, both by Siofra Dromgoole, were sell-out shows and met with critical acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe, Theatre 503, The Bunker Theatre, The Golden Goose and Park Theatre. Three Sisters with support from Arts Council England and The Glitch premiered Ripe Tomato at VAULT Festival. Their play, After Sex, by Siofra Dromagoole and directed by Izzy Parris is coming to the Arcola Theatre this July. Three Sisters’ very own Grainne Dromagoole is reprising her role in DEADHEADS at this year’s Fringe.

DEADHEADS is writer, Maddie Lynes’ third play. Her previous plays include When We Were Normal, developed by Three Sisters Productions, which ran at Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 before it transferred to and sold out the White Bear Theatre in London, and then was restaged at the Rose Theatre, Kingston in 2024. Her second play, Her Very Many Faces, won the Marlowe Other Prize for Drama and was performed at the Corpus Playroom in Cambridge, described as “a stand out piece of theatre” in Varsity newspaper’s five-star review. Her short film, Swim, won the Cambridge Creative Screenwriting competition in 2021.
