We have a dedicated team of willing volunteers who will implement this project but they will need some outside assistance to achieve the projects aims. This will entail the purchase of suitable equipment for the children to use. The intention is to provide two battery operated mobile "stunt" aeroplanes which can either be controlled by the child or remotely by the parent or one of our volunteers. See https://youtu.be/np91dzsjVP4o This would be supplemented by a inhouse constructed static wooden aeroplane. In addition there would be an activity frame including swings and a slide.
None of these types of facilities exist on the Museum site, and would be a welcome addition we believe by our visitors for the use of their children. The area on our site would need to be prepared and surfaces suitable for the safe use of children such as rubber matting around the activity area. This can take the form of artificial grass. Part of the project would also entail the moving into a nearby location of our two Comet aircraft nose sections which would then allow them to be open our visitors and their children.
