Aim: To serve the growing work of OSXKM and our Men’s Project - Day Six, we are in desperate need of a reliable minibus.
Day Six is an initiative helping men, and in particular young men across the UK flourish in faith, character, discipline and relationship.
The statistics from 2024 until now across the UK show that there is much need in this demographic:
-1 in 8 men suffer with mental health issues/ low self esteem.
-Men make up 75% of the growing suicide rates in the UK and at the heart of 80% of these suicudes is loneliness and isolation
-96% of incarcerated people are men
-68% of those addicted to drugs are men
- 44% of children have come from some sort of a broken home
- Men are more exposed to negative/ damaging content than ever before
Since its launch, Day Six is rapidly growing and having a huge positive impact on men across the North East. It has also garnered much interest from churches, gyms, groups and community centers around the UK. We hope in the future to expand across the UK and establish many more Day Six projects within local communities.
Our project offers FREE:
- six-week fitness bootcamps
- Outdoor training and bushcraft skill sessions
- Men’s Drop-in Centres
- Regional Men’s Gatherings
However, currently transport is a major challenge.
Many of the men we work with don’t have access to vehicles, can’t afford long journeys or have other needs that often hinder them attending.
We are looking to raise £20,000–£25,000 to purchase a reliable minibus that will help to serve the growing work that we are doing.
What the Minibus will do:
• Enable transportation for men from across the UK to Day Six / OSXKM events, especially those in isolated areas or difficult life situations.
• Bring consistency and stability to the projects by providing freedom and opportunity in travel.
• Carry heavy equipment like fitness gear to keep these important sessions going in different locations.
• Enable mission travel for local evangelism and gospel outreach.
• Support consistent growth by removing logistical barriers for both participants and volunteers.
The bus would for many a lifeline, bringing them into community and in turn help us in conquering loneliness, strengthening those communities and advancing the gospel.
Your financial support would directly impact lives across the UK—helping us build up men who can then build up others.
