Following my divorce 3yrs ago, I waited a year before embarking on my online dating journey. Initially full of optimism at the idea of finding love, I soon began to fall victim to the emotional scars online dating can leave. The rollercoaster of emotions once the excitement fades & the exposure to predatory, narcissistic men begin to steal your spirit, it’s an experience many are unaware of what they are signing up for.
Following 2yrs of suffering Narcissistic abuse from someone I met online, it took me a year to begin to recover and neutralise our trauma bond.
There needs to be a greater awareness about the emotional dangers of online dating a culture saturated in lies and people with mental health conditions who can leave you broken as the result of simply looking for the one thing everyone deserves to experience in this lifetime which is Love.
The app I have taken a year to design, I hope to create, as a fun interactive way women can best prepare themselves for the dark experiences and emotions they are highly likely to experience by signing up to a dating app.
