Gymnastic Equipment and Facility Improvement

Who are we?

We pride ourselves on being a family run, family friendly club that welcomes everyone that steps through our doors with the warmest and caring approach possible. We are qualified gymnastics coaches wanting to improve our club for all our members

Our lead head coach Kellie set up the club in 2019 and joined by mother Kim and best friend Dawn to help open Darwin gymnastics and dance in shrewsbury. Over the years many more volunteers joined us and became part of the Darwin family 

Community impact

We opened the club based on that we wanted to try and offer as many diverse and fitting classes as possible for every age and abilities and a friendly place for parents to love to come to, to watch their children and to make friends for themselves 

We have managed to tick most of those boxes but would love to tick some more 

We have been able to set up stay and soft play sessions for the babies up to 4 years with lots of play equipment suitable for their age group 

Mother and toddlers for that in between age recreational classes from 3years too adults and competitive gymnastics for the more advanced 

Our dance class is also a big success due to the wide range of abilities in the team 

Camps are offered over holidays and we don’t shut our Normal sessions over the holidays either giving all the members the enjoyment every week of their classes

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are a none-profit club for that we rely on fundraising to be able to purchase new equipment or make the facility better.

In our facility 90% of our equipment is second hand or donated to us since opening, the owners used their own money to start purchasing the equipment they needed to start. which most of the mats or other pieces have being repaired or still have some damage to them. We would love to purchase new equipment to be able to offer the best and safest way of improving our members time with us. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

We would be looking at a single high bar , safety padding against tumble wall , a pit built at the end of tumble and vault area, floor built around the beams and bars to allow for safer walking around equipment, a coaching block and a sound system, these are only a few things we need to make the club a better and safer place for the gymnasts to be able to build their skill base.

One of our main projects in to install a heating system into the facility, it doesn’t have one at the moment and last winter every child and parent were freezing which stopped some of our members from coming alone to their sessions. This is going to cost around £8,000. 

Another pot we would like to aim for is too be able to help our coaches through their coaching qualifications which is a high amount to be able to afford outright.
