We're still collecting donations
On the 9th September 2020 we'd raised £881 with 26 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 9th September 2020 we'd raised £881 with 26 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Dance Horizons was initiated in 2013 by current Creative Director Oliver James Anwyl with the ambition of championing performance within the field of contemporary dance. Opening doors for dance artists and companies at all stages in their career as a catalyst for presenting their work on the public stage. This also includes a dynamic programme of touring dance work as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Previous Fringe bills have included productions by Kennedy Muntanga Dance Theatre (UK), Abian Hernandez (Spain), Fiona Houez (France), Paul Scott Bullen (UK) and Fuelled Dance Theatre (UK).
Dance Horizons also runs a series of initiatives including networking and artistic development events. Past events have been run in partnership with leading international organisations such as One Dance UK and the Foundation for Community Dance. At its core, the work of Dance Horizons was founded around its flagship event, Innovations Contemporary Dance Platform.
At the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, Dance Horizons was mid-production for a series of Innovations Dance Platforms and a season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The costs incurred by our organisation have been colossal with lost revenue, discarded marketing materials and our day to day running costs have continued throughout our closure. The situation has fast diminished our organisations financial reserves. Currently, we are unable to access funding through the covid-relief funds for arts sector announced by the Government.
We need some help from our friends to keep our heads above water, as the theatre industry shows little sign of recovery in the coming months. Those of you who know us well will be very much aware of our inability to stand still, as we remain determined to create positives out of the darkness.
Our second need for support is to roll out a new project, with an aim to revitalise creativity for dance artists in Edinburgh through a series of Dance Scratch Nights. This exciting project will allow artists to share their work to audiences and peers, supporting their creative process and ensure new dance works are being made within the city. We are excited to be entering into a working partnership with a local arts centre to accommodate this project in both a theatre and virtual setting.
In order for us to make this project viable we need to secure funds from a variety of sources to get the project off the ground. By supporting our crowdfunder, you are directly contributing to our mission to respond and support the needs of artists in our area.
Any support you can give us is profoundly appreciated and we have some exciting rewards on offer as a thank you for your generosity.
We have corporate sponsorship opportunities available for our 2021 season. Please contact us if you would like further information.
