The aim of this project is to raise enough donations to pay for a classic WW2 C47 Dakota fly past at our 80th anniversary event.

RAF Rivenhall is unknown to many but holds so many WW2 secrets. One of those is its role on Operation VARSITY - the Rhine Crossing, 24th March 1945. Rivenhall launched 60 gliders and tugs carrying members of the 6th Airborne Division into the heart of the enemy's defences. At least 80 of those who flew from Rivenhall died within hours on that day.

On Sunday 23rd March 2025 we will be holding an event at the former RAF Rivenhall site to remember those that took part. There will be the unveiling of a new memorial, military vehicles, static stands and much more. The event is a one off, with local volunteers helping to make it work with a very limited budget.

We want to bring the event to life with a low level flying display and have the opportunity to get this as part of the event. A classic WW2 C47 Dakota no less! We need to raise enough donations to get this in place for the event.

PLEASE HELP.
