The aim of the Gathering is to share our Indigenous story with other native cultures and indigenous peoples from around the world and to gain strength- or 'Daingean' in the Irish language- from our being, learning and growing together.

Our 2-3 day Daingean cycle will take place on 1-3 November 2022. It will replicate the practice of our ancestors, from as early as the Bronze Age, who sent a signal using a huge fire from the Hill of Tara, to Emain Macha (Armagh) and then on to Sconce Fort on Antrim's North Coast..

By cycling this same route we want to carry the metaphor of light with us to spread awareness and understanding of our DAINGEAN '23 Gathering, inviting you to help us realise the Gathering together by donating, spreading the word or simply joining us on a short section of our route on your bike- if you have time.

Daingean is an Irish/Gaelic term which means a range of different terms in English- such as strength, fort, stronghold, perseverance- and it is our conference/Gathering theme to highlight the survival of indigenous people's worldwide despite centuries of oppression and discrimination.
