Arthur, our beloved son has very complex special needs which include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and learning disabilities.  He struggles with his speech, movement on his right side and this causes him frustration and extreme anxiety and very low self esteem.

Arthur tried to kill himself less than 3 months ago.

Shortly after, his special school gave up on him and after he allegedly hit out at a teacher whilst he was in crisis they made the decision to exclude him.

Our local LD CAMHS support have systematically failed us.

We have asked 6 other local specialist schools to consult with us about a placement for Arthur and for various reasons the easiest a few of them can even consider an assessment is June 2021.

Arthur current has 2 x 1 hour sessions online with a tutor from the council.

And he had 2 x 2.5hr placements at a local autistic charity, The Daisy Chain Project.  Unfortunately, he "melted down"during a session and in a state of crisis pulled an electrical panel off the wall and had to be restrained to prevent him from touching exposed mains wires.  During this restraint he bit a member of staff and his provision has been paused.

In order for this lifeline to be reinstated Daisy Chain need Arthur to be under the care of 2 staff rather than 1.  The council have agreed to fund this provision.  But they also need 2 more things.

1. They need to move the electrical panel at a cost of £1,327.91

2. They need to train their staff in the Advanced Module of a specialist restraint protocol known as "Team Teach".  This is estimated to cost £4,640

Daisy chain are reliant on donations and funded placements to do their amazing work.  They lost almost all income during the pandemic.  But they have agreed to pay for the above.

I would like to try and raise enough to at least cover the electrical panel being moved as a way of supporting the charity and that is where I need your help.

We're a family in crisis and it is heart-breaking to see Arthur struggle and not be as happy as possible.  Even if you can only manage £2 I'd be so grateful.

Thank you in advance for any support you can offer.

The video below shows how Daisy Chain can help Arthur.

Kind regards,

Simon x
