Dads Rock aims to improve the lives of children, by working with Dads, children and families throughout Scotland who are most at risk of marginalisation and in greatest need of support. At Dads Rock we support and inspire Dads from all types of families to have the strongest relationships they can with their children, develop strong family units and provide their children a great start in life.
Many Dads feel that existing parenting support systems only focus on Mums. We want Dads to be equal when it comes to parenting and raising children, so we provide learning opportunities, activities, advice and support. Music and play are fundamental to the work we deliver, encouraging self-expression and improving self-esteem in both dads and their children.
We also focus on the physical, mental and emotional health of Dads and provide recreational activities to help prevent isolation. We hope that through these activities’ children will grow up feeling supported by their Dads and that Dads feel supported by each other.
