The aim is to raise funds in our Centenary Year for a Pavilion extension that will help ensure the club can flourish for another 100 years!.

Who are we?

Bridgetown Cricket Club is celebrating its 100th year. The club was founded in 1924 by Edward Roy Nesfield (known as Roy) who identified a piece of land in the south of the village. He built the iconic thatched pavilion and footbridge over the river Exe which players and spectators use to this day to access the ground.

This unique spot attracts clubs from all over the world, including as far afield as Australia. Many touring teams choose to visit this small village in West Somerset year on year to play in one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the UK.

Why are we crowdfunding?

To mark the centenary, the club is embarking on a major and sympathetic extension project.  This will provide new changing facilities, showers and a toilet whilst retaining the character of the pavilion which has proudly stood on the bank of the far side of the ground since the club started in 1924!. The existing pavilion will then be repurposed and used as a much needed communal club space.

This club is in its Centenary Year and the aim of this project is to ensure it is great shape to flourish for another 100 years and beyond!
