Help Send 30 Explorer Scouts from Cole Valley South to Poacher 2026!

We’re fundraising to give up to 30 young people from Cole Valley South Scouts the opportunity to attend the Poacher International Jamboree in 2026 — a truly unforgettable experience bringing together Scouts from all over the world.

For many of our Explorers, this may be their only chance to take part in an international Scouting event. While overseas Jamborees are often out of reach for many families, Poacher offers an exciting UK-based alternative that still brings the global community of Scouting right to our doorstep.

This event is more than just a camp. It’s a crucial milestone for many of our young people as they work towards their King’s Scout Award, the highest achievement in Scouting. In the lead-up to the Jamboree, Explorers who don’t yet know each other will take part in team-building activities and shared challenges to form strong friendships, build confidence, and develop the skills they’ll need to thrive at Poacher.

As a District, this is the first time we’ve launched a project on this scale — and the response has been incredible. Our young people and volunteer leaders are fully engaged and excited. Planning is already underway, and we’ll also be organising community fundraising events, giving the Explorers the chance to take ownership and build valuable life skills along the way.

But the cost of the event is substantial — running into several thousand pounds overall — and we know it will be a real stretch for many families, especially during the current cost-of-living crisis.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help us reduce the financial burden on families and ensure that no Explorer misses out due to cost. Your support will help cover travel, kit, training weekends, and event fees — all vital parts of making this life-changing experience happen.
