All funds raised go back into the preparation and delivery of healthy home cooked, chilled lifeline meals for our clients.
We have had a huge impact within Cumbernauld since our inception. From a standing start to date we have provided over 90,000 meals, many thousands of food bags and emergency parcels helping around 900 families and individuals.
A team of eight individuals has organised every aspect of the project, giving up their time and experience for the benefit of the community. At the height of our activity we were running a 24/7 telephone helpline, delivering seven days a week with a volunteer group of over 120 local residents, organising, packing, cooking, food preparation, dispatching, delivering – all within the confines of Covid restrictions and social distancing. We ensure that all of our food is of the highest quality and full nutritional value with a home cooked approach and have developed supportive partnerships to facilitate this whilst ensuring we make best use of our grant funding and donations.
As a special initiative we provided 600 individuals and families with fully prepared and pre-cooked three course Christmas dinners with crackers, napkins and individual gifts and the more vulnerable with meals at New Year too.
We are now developing the service to move away from Covid response and continue to help those in need.
