We are giving respite to Emergency services and Veterans of HM Forces letting them spend a day on the farm with Sheep either relaxing in our Chill out room or sitting outside with views over the rolling chiltern hills with a cup of tea and a book or chatting with ither people in their situation and with similar PTSD issues, the spot is lovely and relaxing and there are different things to do.
It is a proven fact that animals and working with animals or just being around animals is helpful in managing PTSD and we have rabbits, guinea pigs dogs and Sheep and also maybe in the future Donkeys and Goats and people love them because you can relax watching them or learn new things that can be life changing.
There are a lot of professions where PTSD is a hazard of the Job such as Army, Navy and Royal air force along with Paramedics Nurse etc.
I want to do is create a Charititable organisation and sustain it one that helps people get out with the Animals with their families free of charge from these professions and teach them how to farm Sheep and get well needed respite
After serving in the Army I have PTSD, Sheep farming and a wonderful wife rebuilt my life and my ultimate goal is to give something back! and fight PTSD in a way that has worked to help me manage it.
Children with PTSD will have days dedicated to them for Lambing and if they want to go into farming when they are older we will give them support to do that, we are sure that it will help them manage PTSD so they can less affected by it later in life, maybe we can show them how to manage it with the power of Sheep and their Lambs.
