Raising money for Majed Khalaf and his family to evacuate Rafah safely to Egypt

by Students of Alareer Square in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom

Our appeal is on behalf of a family from Gaza City. The head of the family is Majed Khalaf, a former head teacher, whose school and home were both destroyed in 2014. Their home was again bombed recently and the family have lived in refugee camps for over six years, not including the last eight months. Majed, his parents, his wife, their three daughters and four sons have been in a ‘safe’ refugee camp in Rafah for the last few months, have latterly been forced to move to a camp near Khan Younis and are currently in Rafah awaiting their fate. Majed urgently needs to cross the border into Egypt with his children via an active travel agency. He is looking for a target of £50,000 which would pay for a crossing of nine persons (each crossing can cost up to £5,000 per individual) and the means to subsist in Egypt for long enough to bring over the rest of the family.
