Hello! I am crocheting gifts in aid of raising money for the Disaster Emergency Committee charity who are supporting Ukraine in this time of need. I am making different gifts such as headbands and badges in Ukraine's national colours, they are available to purchase on my Etsy store - KirkysCreationsStore | Etsy. All proceeds will be donated to the charity and by purchasing and wearing the gift items you will be expressing solidarity with Ukraine. Anything contributed will be massively appreciated!
DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) - Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
Every pound donated by the UK public will be distributed to all 13 member charities, which are: Action Against Hunger, ActionAid UK, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, CARE International UK, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide UK, International Rescue Committee UK, Oxfam, Save the Children UK, Plan International UK, and World Vision UK.
Here is how your donations can help:
- £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
- £50 could provide blankets for four families
- £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
The funds that the Disasters Emergency Committee is raising in its Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal will also be vital in funding projects that offer women and girls solutions to problems, by providing safe spaces, psychosocial support and dignity kits that contain essentials such as sanitary protection, underwear and soap, and torches for the dark journeys they're making.
