Post pandemic I'm taking part in the Young Cricket Leaders programme, which is a leadership and volunteering scheme. Now more than ever it's important to reconnect with our communities and for young people to focus on wellbeing through sport.
I'm passionate about cricket and believe that it should be accessible for all.
I have smashed my first two targets of £600 and £900 thanks to the generosity of my family, friends and some amazing corporate sponsors.
So I'm hoping to raise a minimum of £1200 in total for the following three causes:-
£400 for Theale and Tilehurst Cricket Club. I've been at the club since the start of my cricket journey. It's not only inclusive but has given me a great player pathway to develop my cricket. This will receive match funding so will be an massive £800 for the Douai Abbey pitch upgrade project.
£400 for Reading School. We have some great cricketers but the school receives no specific financial provision for cricket. Any funds raised will go towards improving future cricket provision at the school.
£400 for The Ruth Strauss Foundation because they support families who have lost a parent and fund research into non smoking lung cancers.
How I will do this:
- Collect donations for cricket related volunteering hours- club and school. I am aiming a minimum of 50 hours
- selling my nearly new books, trainers and old toys
-£5 from my parents for each match wicket taken
-producing some corporate videos and donating all the money
-helping my grandparents with jobs
-anything else legal that will pay me some money. 100% will go towards the project
So please give what you can, no matter how much. A few pounds can make a huge difference to support communities through cricket.
Thank you
