I'm Callum, and after spending six months in Kerala feeding street dogs, I came home and completed the ICAM humane dog population management training.. The suffering of these dogs - unsterilised, often injured, and misunderstood - is not due to a lack of care from the community, but a lack of resources, infrastructure, and unified effort.
That’s why I’ve founded The Stray Way CIC, a social enterprise and campaign that aims to create long-term, sustainable change in Kerala by building collaboration between shelters, ABC (Animal Birth Control) programmes, animal welfare advocates, and communities.
Our mission is to humanely reduce the street dog population and improve the lives of animals and people alike. We’re focusing on five key pillars:
- Sterilisation & Vaccination
- Community Education
- Adoption
- Rescue
- Advocacy for better laws and policy
We're currently reaching out to shelters and ABC centres across Kerala to build a united network working toward the same goal, sharing knowledge, resources, and strategies.
But this can’t be built on passion alone.
To help fund this mission in a sustainable way, we want to produce products such as pet food and accessories, where the profits go back into supporting on-the-ground sterilisation, rescue efforts, and educational outreach. By combining advocacy with ethical products, we’re creating a way to support this work beyond one-off donations.
Your support will help us:
- Build partnerships with local organisations
- Fund early sterilisation drives and education campaigns
- Create our first product line to launch our long-term funding model
- Design materials for outreach, community training, and volunteer coordination
With your help, we can build something powerful and lasting—not just a moment of change, but a movement.
