Aim: The first aim of the project is to set up and then run regualar youth drop-in sessions on two social housing estates in Leomisnter, UK.

David & Kathy have been running ad-hoc youth and family sessions in Leominster for over 20 years, on behalf of the local Church and Council.

Research over the winter showed a real need for — and clear benefits from — regular youth sessions in the Ridgemoor and Barons Cross areas. A number of funders agree and have expressed interest in supporting this work. However, to receive funding, an organisation is needed to run the project.

That’s where Crate Stuff comes in.

Crate Stuff is a new Community Interest Company that will deliver creative sessions in at least two local venues, moving equipment around in crates — making it flexible and accessible. We think this will be great!

But before we can apply for grant funding, there’s some groundwork to do: purchasing insurance, writing safeguarding and other essential policies, and setting up a website and email system.

Our vision: to quickly get to the point where we can submit grant applications, launch sessions this summer, and build up to running a weekly session in the Barons Cross Community Room and a fortnightly session at the Mallards Park on Ridgemoor Road.

With your help, we can make this happen — and create safe, fun, creative spaces for young people in our community.
