Hello! We are a group of creatives excited to bring to you Crash and Burns, a new comedy by emerging writer Amy Yeo, heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
In particular, we are thrilled to be working with a team of creatives and cast who are primarily (or were previously) Scotland-based, celebrating the best of a city close of all of our hearts and home to one of the largest arts festivals in the world. Our team have a whole host of EdFringe credits between them, and we are so excited to be part of this project – but we need your help!
Set in the purgatory between graduation and adult life, the play follows six friends as they reunite for their annual Burns Night Supper: Rabbie-Burns-style (i.e. with too much alcohol and not enough self-restraint!). Yet, a joyful, not-so-Scottish evening of celebrations quickly descends into an evening of chaos; rumours are spread, secrets are revealed and sh*t hits the fan. A life-affirming comedy about growing up (or not), falling apart and who you choose to fall apart with, Crash and Burns asks if maybe auld acquaintance should be forgot after all…
This project began its life with a sell-out run at Bedlam Theatre in 2019. Since then, the script has been redeveloped and is now ready for its debut Fringe run. We are thrilled to be performing from 2-27 August at Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose.
A rough breakdown of expenses for the show include:
The remainder of our funding comes from in-kind donations and grants, but any donations go a long way to improve the reach and quality of our show.
