My name is Harjinder Kalsi, and I work at WHG (Walsall Housing Group). Many of you would have been affected by Covid 19 over the last few years and may have lost a loved one to this pandemic. I was one of the many that did.
In 2021, I lost my late wife to Covid. She was just 45 years old and losing her was one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with.
While trying to come to terms with the loss, I was looking for a way to keep her memory alive when I came across the National Covid Memorial Wall, in Westminster.
This is where a name can be placed in a painted heart on the wall to be remembered and mourned. Stretching along the Thames near Westminster Abbey, this wall stands as a place of remembrance and love, maintained by volunteers with little or no formal funding.
To support the maintenance of this important memorial, I am organizing a fundraiser on Wednesday 4 June 2025, in G1 and G2.
Come along for:
- A raffle
- A bake sale
- Samosas and spring rolls
- Henna
- The chance to connect and remember those we lost
Every penny raised will go directly to the National Covid Memorial Wall.
You can show your support by:
- Donating an item for the raffle
- Volunteering your time on the day to help run the event
- Simply taking part in the activities
If you’d like to learn more about the wall, or if you wish to add the name of a loved one, you can find more information here.
I hope I can count on your support so this wonderful wall can be maintained, and the memories of our loved ones can live on.
