We're still collecting donations

On the 7th May 2020 we'd raised £10 with 1 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Peace International is an organisation which prides itself on tackling poverty, promotes training education and child rights and have successfully been doing so for the last 8 years

Peace International works to target disadvantaged communities in London and in particular the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The organisation is led by 4 trustees and 20 volunteers.

For the last 2 months, PI has changed its way of providing service as a result of COVID -19 which has severely affected the London population and specifically the ethnic communities. Presently, we have people who cannot go to work or had to reduce their working hours, families with parents that are self-employed or work zero-hour contracts, children who cannot go to school and now spend most of their time playing games or trying to study from home. This pandemic  has resulted in people's finances being severely affected, making it difficult to put food on tables, pay electricity bills, gas bills and other necessary to house bills.

Our vision is to enhance the life of disadvantaged families, providing them with the opportunity to have a better life as they face the challenges presented by this COVID-19 pandemic. We want to extend our support and make a difference.

To address this crisis and efficiently give these families the help they deserve and desperately need, Peace International would like to help 100 local people who are facing hardship, the issue of hunger and financial difficulty.

To resolve this, we would like to provide financial support to families, single parents and people with low or without an income to enable them to procure life essential items such as food, gas, electricity, sanitising products, gloves and masks as well as telephone vouchers during this pandemic crisis.

Testimony

A few days ago, we were approached by a community member who is going through hardship. She is 5 months pregnant and has her husband in the hospital as a result of a cardiovascular accident. Presently, she can not go out and cannot work as a result of her pregnancy and own health problem.

So, we sent our volunteers to assist her during these trying times. We provided her with shopping, bought some essential products and ensured she was given some funds to pay for gas and electricity.

We are still in touch with her and with similar families who are waiting for our help.
