Countess Anne School are very proud that their Headteacher, Mr David Lodge, will once again be braving the Dragon's Back Race! On this legendary 380km, 6-day, running race along the mountainous spine of Wales, Mr Lodge will be attempting to beat his personal record, and hopefully complete this gruelling challenge.
In 2023 only 20% of starters finished the race - Can Mr Lodge make it this year?!?!?
We will be reporting on his progress here, and encourage you to donate to this page to show your support!
On Friday 20th September the children of Countess Anne School will be running their own Dragon's Back race. The school field will be transformed into our very own version of the famous trail, starting at Conwy Castle and ending in style at Cardiff Castle. Of course it wouldn't be the Dragon's Back race without some obstacles to challenge along the way, such as the treacherous drops of Crib Goch, the dazzling heights of Cnicht and Cadair Idris and not to mention the ever unpredictable Welsh weather.......
More information coming soon!!!!!
School residentials are a great way of creating special memories for children, whilst at the same time developing their independence and personal skills.
Countess Anne School believes that learning extends far beyond the classroom and that outdoor education should be available to all pupils. Over their time in the primary school all children are able participate in three residential field trips -
Residential trips are invaluable experiences. They ignite children's curiosity, boost their confidence, and deepen their understanding of the world. These immersive trips allow the children to explore new environments, engage in hands-on learning, and develop critical life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and independence.
Currently Countess Anne School heavily subsidise the cost of residential trips, to ensure all children get the opportunity to attend. However, the cost of these trips continues to rise, with no money allocated from central funding.
Your donation will ensure these residential trips will remain available in the future. The money raised will be used to subsidise trip costs, keeping these amazing experiences accessible for all children at Countess Anne.
