We need your help, Burrowbridge.
We've really appreciated the support our community has given us over the years. Whether you're a member of our regular groups and clubs or have attended any of our events, you've helped in some way to keep the Coronation Hall running.
This year has been difficult for us all. COVID-19 has restricted all our lives in ways we would never have thought possible a year ago. The Hall Trustees were looking forward to another year of hosting community groups and activities, where people could meet and socialise as well as taking bookings for business meetings and private events. Alas, it was all brought to a sudden halt by the national lock down in March.
When the restrictions were eased slightly in the summer, we worked hard to make the hall COVID secure so we could re-open. Our regular groups and clubs were making plans to meet again but the "rule of six" and three tier restrictions in September put a stop to that. The Hall managed to secure a few bookings but we were very limited in the activities we could allow.
Throughout all of this, we've had to pay our bills as well as keep the hall insured, cleaned and maintained. With very little income since March, this has seriously depleted our funds. On top of this, we've got some major repairs we need to carry out but we've had to take the decision to delay these for this year, as it would have completely wiped out our funds.
Now, as England undergoes a second national lock down, everything is on hold for another month with an uncertain future ahead for the rest of this year and into the next.
So, we're asking our community to help us out with donations. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated and will go towards helping secure the future of the Coronation Hall and keep it going until we can welcome everyone back again.
