We're still collecting donations

On the 1st December 2023 we'd raised £10,305 with 30 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

With the extra funds, this will allows us to apply for a further licence, buy more seeds and help employ more local staff in Cornwall, we aim to help the local community first and foremost with our project so extra funding will allow us to support our local network.

Why We Need Your Support

"Help give us the GO to grow"

We have been self funding and building the profile of the CSG over the past 18months we have recently applied for a marine license for our proposed site off of Falmouth.

We have Access to a shared site on the north coast where we will be undertaking seaweed trials this year . So a funding round would pay for the seaweed seeds and the infrastructure, vessel hire for us to achieve this it would also help pay for the license application which is vital for us to move the business forward .

Our Mission

At Carbon Sea Garden, we are committed to cultivating and refining sugar kelp at scale to combat climate change and reduce our dependence on single-use plastics. Our proposed farm, located off the coast of Falmouth, will produce the highest quality seaweed with minimal environmental impact. Why farm seaweed?

We are proud to be a part of sustainable seaweed farming, which offers environmental and socio-economic benefits. Our goal is to provide the highest quality seaweed while helping to preserve the marine environment.

  • Seaweed can replace high carbon products and provide a range of ecosystem services.
  • Seaweed farms increase biodiversity and species abundance.
  • Seaweed does not require fresh water, land or industrial fertilisers to grow.
  • Future-proofing the fishing and aquaculture industry in the South West.
  • Seaweed farming strengthens the local economy in the South West
