Cornish Barbarians Marathon Row - Georgias Voice
We did it
On 21st August 2024 we successfully raised £370 ( + est. £85.00 Gift Aid ) with 26 supporters in 77 days

Im joining Cornish Barbarians Pilot Gig Club to row a marathon and fundraise for Georgias Voice new lifesaving hub for young women.

I`m incredibly proud and feeling privileged to have been selected to represent the Cornish Barbarians in their huge marathon charity row due to take place on the 10th August 2024, especially as I`m half Devonian and half cockney. I’ll be wearing my Cornish stripes for the very first time and will even consider putting jam on first….! The challenge will consist of rowing a marathon distance of 42,195 metres along the Cornish coast in a Cornish pilot gig with others from 28 other rowing clubs on August 10th.

The event is to raise money for “Georgia’s Voice” which is a charity that offers small, free, confidential support groups for young women with mental health concerns, offering a safe place to come and talk, listen or just be. The aim being to bring the ever-increasing suicide rate in young girls down to zero. Georgia’s Voice is the legacy of Georgia Lee Gallaway who sadly took her own life on July 6th 2020. Over the last ten years my own mental health has taken a battering with many emotional ups and downs in this period of my life. Anyone who has suffered with anxiety as I do, can go through a range of emotions and Georgias Voice helps promote good mental health and positive emotions. All money raised will go towards the dream of building a lifesaving hub for young women.

Id be extremely grateful if you could please help by sponsoring me in my attempt to raise over £200 to assist in my challenge, which will help raise funds for this amazing charity. Thank you so much for your support.
