MINI Challenge Cooper Trophy 2025 single event

About Me:

My name is Neil Cogan. I have been interested, passionate and involved in motor racing from an early age. My lifelong ambition has always to be a professional racing driver. I currently hold a racing license and have tested in many different varieties of racing which I feel has given me more experience and knowledge of the sport and what is required to be successful.

My experience:

• Go-Karting since I was six years old in various karts and at various venues.
• MG ZR test
• Renault Clio scholarship where there were two timed sessions and my quickest lap time improved by 2.5 seconds from the first session to the second 
• MINI Cooper Challenges at Oulton Park and Donington Park 
• Go-Karting race at my local venue where I claimed pole position and won with lapping everyone in the process 
• BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship at Oulton Park. Prior to qualifying I had never driven the car, or driven a RWD car on a circuit before, despite this I managed to improve my lap time from qualifying to race 3 by 10 seconds.

Why am I crowdfunding?

I am seeking funding to compete in a single event within the 2025 MINI Challenge Cooper Trophy, with the target to compete in a full season in 2026. I feel this could be very beneficial for my targets, as it will familiarise myself with the car, circuit team and championship. My eventual target to compete in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). I'm aiming to achieve this within 5 years, via the MINI Challenge Cooper and JCW classes.

I am aiming to compete in one of the following events:

• Silverstone 27th-28th September
• Brands Hatch Indy 1st-2nd November

How we’ll spend the money raised:

The funding will cover the total cost for a weekend:

• Team Fees (including Friday test) £7,515
• Driver Entry Fees £2,480
• Insurance (including damage excess) £5,000
• Tyres £2,000

Any donation large or small would be greatly appreciated.
