To provide equipment for classrooms and outdoors to keep Coombe Girls’ School a healthy environment to study during the coronavirus crisis

by Coombe Girls’ School Parents' and Friends' Association in New Malden, England, United Kingdom

We're still collecting donations

On the 28th December 2020 we'd raised £3,760 with 152 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

In the longer term the ”outdoor fund”hopes to provide money to rehabilitate the school wildlife garden area. There is a pond here that needs to be restored. This area has long been used by pupils who enjoy practical recreation projects and who wish to learn about growing plants and produce in the gardening club. Gardening and interest in the Environment is a past time many of us have enjoyed during this constricted year and it seems a great thing to encourage at school too.

Pupils enjoy eating, studying and socialising outdoors which gives them freedom, fresh air and improves mental health.

We would also like to increase the number of hard wearing picnic tables as well has maintaining and weatherproofing those the school has already.

CGS is fortunate to have attractive grounds and adaptable outdoor spaces but it is important to maintain this pleasant environment and provide suitable equipment which can be a burden on stretched finances. The PFA wishes to support the the school in this where they can.

In a year like no other, fundraising for our children and staff is more important than ever, but we aim to do so in a safe and secure way. Here's how you can help- join our crowdfunding project throughout December. You can make a contribution of whatever amount you feel able to donate, any amount will make a difference.

The staff and teachers at Coombe Girls‘ School are making a tremendous job of supporting our young people and of keeping the school running as normally as possible. The PFA really wanted to support their hard work and dedication. We have asked them to prioritise a Wishlist of items that would help with the process of keeping the school environment as healthy and virus free as possible. Let's help keep staff and pupils healthy! The more we raise the more we can buy.

The items they have selected are intended to make a difference to teachers and pupils both inside and outside the building.

In the classrooms we would like to reduce the need to share equipment by 1606671018_vizualizer.jpegproviding a whiteboard pen for each pupil and visualizers that will help to share pupils’ work remotely via the projection system.

1606670808_benches.jpegTo maintain social distancing outdoors, where our children are spending much more time than usual, we want to buy stackable benches to provide extra seating and picnic tables to provide much needed seating outdoors , as well as maintaining and weatherproofing those we have already.

Thank you for your support! Please share this project too if you can.
