I am a retired teacher of Mathematics and Science. My education was in Soil & Ware Engineering as well as Manufacturing Management.

I now volunteer as a Conservation Steward at the Shuttleworth Collection and The Swiss Garden. A unique example of a Regency garden in the picturesque ‘Alpine’ style, the garden forms part of the Grade II* registered park of Old Warden. Features and planting from two centuries combine to create the enchanting garden. This garden is maintained, on the whole, by volunteers. People from all walks of life visit the garden all year round. The Garden makes a wonderful contribution to the environment.

Structures & Ornaments

Some of the structures and ornaments need constant maintenance and restoration work. A pressing challenge is for a complete restoration of the Summerhouse by expert Woodworkers. The Summerhouse was first erected in 1877.

Above is the Aviary, which has been in ruins for decades but we are now slowly working on it.
