CONSERVATION OF THE OLDEST HERITAGE REST HOUSE IN ANCIENT CITY OF LUXOR

by Karina Al Piaro in Luxor, Egypt

The MARATONGA was established in 1881.

It’s presence stands  as one of the oldest surviving restaurant & rest house in the Ancient City of Luxor , Egypt in Medinet Habou in the heart of one the most densely rich World Heritage Sites presently in existence,

Beloved of many international Egyptologists , travellers to the Nile & lovers of Egypt this establishment is now under threat of disappearing altogether with its namesake , a legendary eagle that was rescued by its founder many decades ago.

The COVID crisis has impacted millions of small businesses internationally & HERITAGE IS BEING LOST . We would be extremely grateful if  you could show your support for he continued survival of this precious beloved heritage establishment.

Thank you
