We're still collecting donations
On the 4th April 2020 we'd raised £3,092 with 84 supporters in 7 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Amid the global Covid-19 crisis we're looking for £1000 to complete our workshop so we can open the moment government restrictions lift.

On the 4th April 2020 we'd raised £3,092 with 84 supporters in 7 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Any extra money will go towards re-strectching our ageing silk screens, buying new screens and buying small details for the workshop e.g pot plants, festoon lighting, rugs, blinds, bench cushions etc.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, we're looking for support to complete our workshop conversion project so that we can open our doors to you the moment we return to normality.
The Old Filling Station is set to be Gnarly Tree's first permanent home. A beautiful workshop in which to print our ethically sourced garments. A place to welcome our loyal customers into that inspires and involves them in the creative process. A place where a community of like-minded individuals can meet to share stories, plan adventures and scheme of ways to make our towns, cities, and countries better and more sustainable places to live.
This home happens to be a disused old filling station based in South Downs National Park. A little building packed with character set amongst beautiful countryside and fresh air. For the past 6 months we've welcomed a motley crew of helpers to the workshop to help convert a ivy-ridden, dusty, abandoned building into the place we dream of above and we're so close now!
At the moment Covid-19 became a global issue we were about 2 weeks away from opening. Given the uncertainty we have had to divert precious cash into other essential bills and contingency plans leaving us just short on the last few things we had to get in before we can open up. We don't know when this crisis will eventually end but when it does we want to be ready and open to welcome you with open arms into our beautiful workshop with some cold beers and some brand new threads.
Crowdfunder are kindly offering up their platform with no fees to allow all UK small businesses to pre-sell their meals, events or fund projects to help keep them afloat.
We're so aware that we wouldn't be anywhere without our dear customers and acknowledge in uncertain times money is always a worry but if you feel able or willing to help us on journey then we would massively appreciate your support. We feel that we've still got a lot of life left in us yet. Please do take a look at some of the ways you can help, we welcome contributions small or otherwise. To say thank you all our contributors will have their photo on our Gnarly Tree family wall in the new workshop along with many other goodies. Thanks for taking the time to read.
Peace, Jonny
In case you don't know us...
If you don't know what Gnarly Tree is, we are an ethical and sustainable clothing brand based on the south coast of the UK. Our aim is to produce beautiful, handprinted clothing inspired by a life lived outdoors in way that reduces the impact on the environment as much as possible.
Our journey started in the French Alps where we started printing t shirts from a chalet coldstore to bolster a seasonnaire's meagre income. Upon returning to the UK we started peddling our t shirts from a cart in Chichester town centre and local markets and have since traded at the UKs biggest festivals and opened two successful high-street pop-up shops.
We're now so close to having our permanent home open to you all so please do help us get across the line.
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
