MASA's community Project

Aim: To rebuild and upgrade our old sand-based 3G surface, opening up access to a safe, inclusive space for the wider community.

Here at Metrogas, our current Astroturf is sand-based pitch in which is over 30 years old. It’s outdated, worn out, and no longer fit for purpose—posing real health and safety risk. If left as it is, the surface risks becoming derelict, an eyesore, and a magnet for antisocial behaviour and vandalism.

But there’s good news…we’ve secured funding from the Football Foundation to completely rebuild and extend our facility into a state-of-the-art, floodlit 3G playing surface.

This transformation will not only benefit our current teams and members, but also open the doors to the wider community, providing a safe, inclusive space for women, girls, and underrepresented groups who may never have had access to such a facility before.

We’re calling on our amazing community, local businesses, and members to support us in our efforts in raising £31,000 ourselves.

Every single contribution no matter how big or small counts and brings us one step closer to securing the future of Metrogas in SE9 as well as providing a great asset to our local community with no barriers.
