What you will be doing

The role would require attendance at 6 -8 Management Committees per academic year.  

Sitting on a Committee focusing on Quality of Education, Safeguarding and Wellbeing or Finance which would meet 3-4 times a year.

Taking on a Link Governor role for a subject e.g. maths, science, business studies or for a role such as Pupil Voice, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Pupil Premium.

Visiting a Unit once a term to meet with Lead Teachers etc as part of the above role.



What we are looking for

We are looking for Governors from a range of backgrounds, including HR, Legal, Health & Safety, Finance and Special Educational Needs.  Whilst we are an Educational organisation, teaching experience is not a requirement, but a keen interest in enabling young people to achieve their aspirations and be the best they can be is required.

Getting there

We have a number of Units across West Berkshire.  Meetings are held mainly at Independence our Unit in Speen, Newbury but are also virtual.

There is free parking available at all our sites.

Facilities

Usual office facilities available other than a canteen.  Most meetings are held outside of school hours.

Additional Details

Typically our Governors serve a four year term of office.
