A bit more about us:
Community Furniture Store is a charity with three main goals:
1. The provision of affordable, or free, furniture, household appliances and IT equipment
2. Preservation of the environment through reuse, and
3. Offering volunteering/work opportunities to the long term unemployed or disadvantaged
Each store works the same – we rely on donations of reusable furniture, appliances, and other household items. All stores offer a delivery and collection service within their local area. All collections are free, whilst deliveries carry a minimal charge to cover costs – depending on location. The stores are open to all, with concession prices available to those in receipt of benefits, as well as pensioners and students.
As an employer, we emphasise the development of skills, confidence and experience among our staff and volunteers. We are proud of our relationships with fellow non-profit organisations and local authorities and look to cooperate wherever possible to benefit the wellbeing of the community and those in need.
