We're still collecting donations
On the 24th April 2021 we'd raised £85 with 5 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our aim is to raise enough money to purchase a van and one years insurance for our Community Food Store.

Community of Helping Hands was set up to support those in need and those working on the front-line during the Covid-19 pandemic. It evolved into a service proving over 6000 food parcels during the crisis. The organisation has grown since then and focuses on bringing our community together to help tackle hunger and poverty in the Glasgow by providing compassionate and practical support. While also Improving the communities’ health and well-being, by the provision of services to meet their social, emotional and physical needs. We have since opened a Community Food Store in Baillieston, which is open to everyone in our community.
The full community benefits from our Community Food Store, those that need support with food and essentials are able to receive it in a compassionate and practical. Also we have engaged with the community and have local residents now volunteering in our store. We currently supporting around 150 households every week, we are also proving support to those that are unable to collect food from our store due as elderly or have a disability that physical prevents them from collecting provisions. We currently support 14 households with deliveries.
So why do we need a van?
Some of you may have seen our volunteers out and about collecting donations, doing deliveries and moving stock to the store. This takes it's toll on our volunteers personal cars, with one volunteer doing over 20000 miles in the year for our project. Our aim is to buy a van for Community of Helping Hands which will enable us to do all of the above however will also enable us to do more in supporting our community with making proving furniture etc to help those struggling make there house a home.
