Community Book Pledge

Aim: To raise funds for the pediatric inpatient wards at grimsby hospital.

Once this total has been met, all funds shall be used by the healthtree foundation in order to buy wipe clean books, sensory books, jigsaws and much more for the children to use on the wards during their stay in hospital. 

Books have several benefits during hospital stays including: 

• Emotional support: Books can help children understand and process complex emotions, such as fear, worry, and hope. 
• Distraction: Books can help distract children from the hospital experience and the worries of being there. 
• Literacy: Books can help build literacy and promote academic success in the future.

  
  

• Comfort: Books can provide comfort and a sense of normalcy for children. 
• Bonding: Reading to children can be a bonding experience for parents and their children. 

  
  

• Cognitive development: Reading to children can help with cognitive and language development. 
• Stress reduction: Reading can help reduce stress for both children and their parents.
