‘demonstrates beautifully what a small group can do at a large festival’ - ★★★★★ Theatre Scotland
We're delighted to announce that Collision Theatre's two new shows, A Naff Play About Spies and Letters From My Dad (who is dead) will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this August!
Following on from last year's successful run of A Working Title by Michael Bryceson, which received two 4-star reviews (Student Newspaper, The Derek Awards) and one 5-star review (Theatre Scotland) the company has now expanded and will be taking up two original shows of vastly contrasting genres.
We are so excited to be taking two new shows up to the Fringe this year, however unfortunately we need some help getting them there. Festival Registration and Venue Hire Costs are incredibly expensive, and since this year we are facing double the costs, anything you can spare would be a huge help to us. Every penny will go directly into the productions, and each person that donates will be entered into a raffle to win a free ticket to the show of their choice.
We know that during recent times especially, money is tight, and we can completely understand that. However, we'd like to reiterate the importance of supporting arts, especially small, student companies, and we would be incredibly grateful for anything you are able to spare if you are in the position to donate. 3 spies. 1 suspect. And a ton of silliness.
Three agents are given a vital mission. Investigate Natalia – Britain’s most dangerous woman. Using new identities, the spies infiltrate Nat’s life, ready to face any obstacles (even hangovers) in their path. A Naff Play About Spies is a new queer comedy written and directed by Sebastian Moulds and produced by Connie Campbell and Thea Royce that mocks the spy genre, giving audiences an Austin Powers-esque parody for the modern generation. Join us for an hour of late night farcical comedy that will have you on the edge of your seat one minute and falling off it with laughter the next!
A Naff Play About Spies will be performing from 2nd-10th August at theSpace @ Symposium Hall Annexe at 23:15 (50 mins).
When you die, what do you want to leave behind?
When Dad gets a terminal diagnosis, it forces him to look at what is important in life. We see this played out through the lens of letters he writes to Charlie to guide him through life’s key moments, since his Dad will no longer be there. Letters From My Dad (who is dead) is a new play written and directed by Michael Bryceson and produced by Yagmur Bayer and Thea Royce. Exploring love, loss, life and everything in between, we follow Dad, Charlie, Mum and Sam through the turmoil and happiness of growing up.
Letters From My Dad (who is dead) will be performing from 12th-18th August at C Venues Aquila Studio at 10:00 (50 mins).
