New stretch target
A slight reserve is necessary for printing costs for flyers and also to be able to call upon extra funds if the need arises for example if there is more research needed for the professionally-written letter of objection.

Thank you to all of you who have contributed - 38 people raised around £2,000 in THREE days! The planning application will now not be considered until the middle of April so there is a little more time to register your objection with SHDC. The amount of support has been greatly encouraging, thank you for all feedback.
I believe that there is probably enough raised to pay for a professional firm of planning experts to scrutinise the planning application with a view to being able to write a robust letter opposing this development in an AONB.
Any surplus funds at the end of this campaign will be donated to St Luke's Hospice so if you wish to contribute just in case the fee turns out to be greater than expected, then that would be appreciated.
A well-drafted and well-researched letter written by planning legal experts should increase the chances of having this application turned down. Should planning permission be granted, there may be the opportunity of seeking a judicial review but this is rather like bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted.
I have been advised that the chances of having this application turned down will also be improved if a significant number of people continue to make their objections known via the planning portal or emailing SHDC : -

Objections should be based on ‘material planning considerations’ and you will find the South Hams Society’s website a useful resource if you are unsure what this means and how to make a successful objection: -

It is also worth reading SHDC's own advice: -

Finally, a firm of solicitors, Kingsley Smith, has some good tips: -

Once more, thank you again for your support either financially, by registering an objection, or both.
